Branden has been a film fan since he was young, roaming the halls of Blockbuster Video, trying to find the grossest, scariest looking VHS covers to rent and watch alone in the basement. It wasn’t until recently, though, that Branden started seeking out the classics of cinema, and began to develop his true passion for the art form. Branden approaches each film with the unique perspective of having studied the art from the inside, having both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in acting. He has been a film critic since 2010, and has previously written for Inside Pulse Movies, We Love Cult, and Diehard Gamefan. His biggest achievement as a film critic, to date, has been founding Cinefessions and turning it from a personal blog to a true film website, housing hundreds of film and television reviews, and dozens of podcasts.
[…] when I asked the question about which upcoming 2014 release we were all looking most forward to back in episode 04. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was my favorite summer blockbuster of 2011. It did everything […]

[…] Nurse 3D (2013, dir. Douglas Aarniokoski) I won’t say too much about this because we spent an entire podcast discussing it back in February. One major disappointment, though, is the fact that they released an edited Blu-ray of the movie, […]
[…] Nurse 3-D (dir. Douglas Aarniokoski) Cinefessions Review Oh man, the trailers got my blood pumping for all the right reasons. Boobs, blood and, well, more […]
[…] Nurse (2014, dir. Douglas Aarniokoski) Abby Russell, a beautiful, dedicated nurse with a sinister side, has a secret life in which she targets and punishes dishonest men. I love bits and pieces of this, particularly the voiceover, but they opted for some bad CG in different parts, including added blood, which just doesn’t work. They weren’t totally in love with the 3D shots, either, so it’s still watchable but watching this at home you can tell what’s meant to come at you with glasses. The acting is pretty decent and I love how insane the lead comes across, but it wasn’t nearly as twisted as I thought it could have been, especially after American Mary. Check out our podcast on this film here. […]
